EU 1979: A People’s Parliament

Het Europees Parlement (EP) van 1979 vocht hard voor emancipatie. Aan de hand van biografieën van vrouwelijke Europarlementariërs van toen en interviews met Europarlementariërs van nu, maken wij een online tentoonstelling over emancipatie in Europa. Deze tentoonstelling, evenals een symposium over emancipatoire onderwerpen die toen al relevant waren en nu nog relevant zijn, is onderdeel van het Arts and Human Rights Festival in Dublin in oktober 2020.

Dit project heeft partners uit Ierland, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Nederland en wordt gefinancierd vanuit Europe for Citizens.

The 1979 European Parliament (EP) fought hard for emancipation. Based on biographies of female MEPs from then and interviews with MEPs of today, we make an online exhibition about emancipation in Europe. This exhibition, as well as a symposium on emancipatory subjects that were already relevant at the time and are still relevant today, is part of the Arts and Human Rights Festival in Dublin in October 2020.
